course info
The Paddy Buckley is a circular running round in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. The 61 mile route takes in 47 peaks and offers over 28,000ft of ascent taking you on a journey through some of the most impressive mountain scenery.
Our two-day Paddy Buckley fastpack is a great way to complete the challenge and for those looking to run it in a single push it’s a great opportunity to recce the route. We have split the route into two sections giving you the chance to wild camp under the stars halfway around. The two days will be guided by a team of experienced mountain leaders who are passionate mountain runners and have extensive knowledge of the route.
If you want to join this challenge you will need a high level of fitness with some marathons or ultra-marathons under your belt. You will need to be able to run/walk over 30 miles per day in mountainous terrain and have the ability to push on when you get tired.
A full kit list will be sent out once your booking has been received, we can provide a list before if you email us. As this is a fastpacking event you will need a tent that is sub 2kg or 4kg if being shared between two people. You will also be carrying your sleeping bag, food and all other essentials.
As part of your preparation, we offer a group zoom chat where Matt Cooper, the event leader, will discuss the route, equipment and any essentials you need to know. Its also a good chance to ask any questions you may have.
If you would like to ask any questions about this event please email info@themountaineeringcompany.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
