THE MOUNTAINEERING COMPANY

Welcome to The Mountaineering Company and thanks for taking time to visit our website. The Mountaineering Company was established with the aim of helping people develop their skills for use in the outdoors so they can realise their dreams and ambitions. We offer instruction in navigation, climbing, mountain running and scrambling in all the main mountain and hill areas of the UK. We also offer overseas expeditions to Morocco, guided mountain walks and mountain running events.

In 2018 the Mountaineering Company became a course provider for Mountain Training England and are authorised to offer Mountain, Hill and Rock Skills Courses. We also belong to the Mountain Training Association (MTA), Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI)​ and The British Mountaineering Council (BMC).

 

Smaller group sizes!

Large group sizes reduce learning opportunities for participants so we reduced all our course instructor ratios to ensure a better learning experience for all our clients. We strongly believe this approach helps improve the learning experience and is a contributing factor to our excellent client retention.

Passionate and experienced instructors!

When you attend one of our courses or guided events the one thing that will stand out is our passion for the outdoors and the activities we instruct. We only employ qualified and experienced instructors who are dedicated and passionate about the subject they are instructing.

Comfortable and supportive learning environment

One thing you are guaranteed is a comfortable and positive learning experience when attending our courses or events. Our courses are structured to ensure everybody is included in the sessions and our instructors are trained to ensure that everybody is treated equally.

We don’t offer Female only course or events as we strongly believe this is not the right direction to achieve equality in the outdoor community. All of our courses and events should be able to offer a suitable learning environment for all, no matter of gender, race or religion and this is the high standard we strive to achieve. Just got back from a fantastic weekend with Matt on the Welsh 3k and couldn't have asked for a better time. We had blue skies and cool air so it wasn't too hot and the views were simply incredible. Matt set a great pace allowing us to push our limits but never going beyond what we were capable of and we finished in 18 hours 32 mins. Hes a top bloke and I would certainly recommend him and The Mountaineering Company to anybody. Thanks again Matt. You will certainly see us again next year no doubt!
