Our one-day Emergency Management and Casualty Care course is designed for hillwalkers, climbers, mountain bikers, runners, and anyone who spends time in remote environments. Going beyond traditional first aid, this practical course focuses on managing real-world emergencies, from a simple ankle injury to serious accidents requiring Mountain Rescue involvement. You'll develop the skills, confidence, and decision-making ability to assess incidents, care for casualties, coordinate rescue, and lead effectively under pressure.

Meet Your Instructor
This course is delivered by Matt Cooper, Founder of The Mountaineering Company. Matt is a qualified Mountaineering Instructor, Winter Mountain Leader, Expedition Leader, and Remote Rescue Medical Technician (RRMT) with extensive experience operating in challenging mountain environments.
As an active member of Mountain Rescue, Matt has significant experience responding to real-world mountain emergencies, ranging from minor injuries and lost walkers to complex casualty evacuations and serious incidents in remote terrain. Drawing on both his professional outdoor qualifications and frontline rescue experience, Matt delivers practical, realistic training that equips participants with the skills and confidence to manage emergencies when help may be some distance away.
