Crib Goch or the "Red Ridge" is one of the finest grade 1 scrambles in the UK and takes you on a fantastic journey over an exposed ridgeline with amazing views all around Eryri - Snowdonia. Our guided groups have small ratios ensuring more time with your instructor and a great day out !

Our highly experienced and qualified instructors will guide you safely across the ridge, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the adventure while we handle the navigation and decision-making. Every guide on our team is fully certified Mountain Leader or above and brings years of mountain-leading experience to ensure a safe and memorable day. 

The day begins in Llanberis at the Mountain Railway station. After meeting your guide, we’ll take a bus up to Pen y Pass to start our journey. We usually descend via the Llanberis Path, returning you to your car or public transport.

In certain weather conditions, Crib Goch may become unsafe to attempt. In these cases, we’ll offer an alternative scramble so your day is still unforgettable.

This experience starts and finishes at the Mountain Railway station in Llanberis. Start times are typically around 8:00 AM, with the exact time confirmed when you book your spot.

Who is this for ?

This guided scramble is perfect for anybody with some grade 1 scrambling experience and an adventurous spirit. The route is exposed but the scrambling is no more difficult than Tryfan, Striding Edge or Sharp Edge but it's a long day out so a good level of fitness will make the day much more enjoyable. 
This course is also ideal for anybody who has attended our Introduction to Scrambling.

Just got back from a fantastic weekend with Matt on the Welsh 3k and couldn't have asked for a better time. We had blue skies and cool air so it wasn't too hot and the views were simply incredible. Matt set a great pace allowing us to push our limits but never going beyond what we were capable of and we finished in 18 hours 32 mins.
