Our Back to Basics Navigation course will guarantee you develop all the fundamental skills you need in a fun and engaging session - What are you waiting for?
Our Back to Basics Navigation Course will take you back to the beginning so you can learn the skills you need and build your confidence navigating outdoors. In all of our courses, we also look at planning for the weather, what to take out with us and how to navigate using maps and apps. By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge you need to navigate in the hills and the confidence to take on your own walks outdoors.

Course Content -
- Route planning (Where to find route info and how to plan a day out)
- Maps and scales (What’s the difference between a 1:25000 map and a 1:50000)
- Map symbols and features (Learn what all the symbols and markings on a map mean)
- How height is shown on the map (Masterclass in contours and elevation)
- How to use the compass.
- Orientating the map
- How to use all the skills to navigate a journey
All of the above will be covered outdoors allowing you to learn and then practice all the techniques during our walk.
