Our Alpine Rock Skills Course is ideal for anybody heading to the Alps on a guided itinerary or those looking to gain a better understanding of the skills you need to climb peaks like Mont Blanc, Matterhorn or the Eiger.
By the end of this course you will be much more confident moving on rock in boots and will have the necessary experience to pursue your alpine objectives.
Our two-day Alpine Rock Skills course is aimed at anybody who is heading out to the Alps either as a guided party or an independent climber. Over the two days, you will climb several long mountain routes, and develop your movement skills so you can move quickly and efficiently, you will also become slick at abseiling and downclimbing.

- Boots - Boot ratings and what you need for the Alps
- Clothing and equipment for the Alps
- Alpine Grades - Alpine grading system and how it relates to UK grades.
- Technical Skills - Belaying, removing gear, slick belay changeovers and much more
- Movement Skills - Moving efficiently on rock routes and how to minimise faff.
- Abseiling and downclimbing - Downlcimbing is often overlooked but it's the most common method for descending in the Alps.
- Fast and Light - How to reduce your pack size so you carry precisely what you need.
