Guest Houses
In Imlil we use our favourite guest house right by the riverside. Rooms are on a shared basis with private bathrooms and WIFI. Rooms also have heating and bedding.
Mountain Refuges
Mountain refuges are basic but offer a comfortable base for our summit attempts. Rooms are bunk rooms with heating and basic facilities and western toilets.
Marrakech
We end our trek at our Boutique Riad in Marrakech with rooms on a twin/double basis. Twin rooms are standard, doubles are available for couples. The Riad is stunning with air-conditioning, a fridge, TV, WIFI and a stunning roof top terrace so you can soak up some sunshine before we return to the UK.
Day 1 - Arrival Day
Arrive in Marrakech where your TMC trek leader will collect you and transport you to Imlil and your guest house for the night.
Day 2 - Ascent to the refuge
The trek starts with a gentle hike up to Sidi Chamharouch where we will get some lunch and relax before the long walk up to the refuge. The valley is stunning with numerous traders selling food and drinks.
Day 3 - Winter Skills Training
A day around the refuge allows our bodies to acclimatise and develop your winter skills. This day will be focused on moving on snow using crampons and axes and resting to allow your body to adjust to the altitude.
Day 4 - Toubkal Summit Day
Jbel Toubkal summit day starts at 4 am where a hearty breakfast will set you up for a great day of trekking to the summit. We normally reach the summit between 11 am and 1 pm, back to the refuge no later than 3 pm for celebrations, hot drinks and cake!
Day 5 - Spare Day
We keep this day spare in case you need a second attempt at the summit. If we reach the summit of Jbel Toubkal on the first attempt we can use this day to summit Ouanoukrim (4089m), the second-highest mountain in Morocco.
Day 6 - Descent back to Imlil and Marrakech
Late breakfast in the refuge then a relaxed walk back to Imlil and our transport back to Marrakech. Overnight in our boutique Riad in Marrakech.
Day 7 - Celebration
Tour around the Medina and souks before we take in some relaxation on the roof terrace at the Riad. In the evening we head to our favourite restaurant in the Medina for a sunset meal overlooking the city.
