Trek Summary: Jbel Toubkal and High Atlas Adventure June 2025
With our clients arriving on Saturday afternoon, the trek officially began on Sunday. After a short transfer to the mountain village of Imlil, spirits were high as the group prepared for a day in the stunning Atlas Mountains. Guided by Kaythryn and Mustapha, we hiked to a nearby mountain pass, where our talented cook team served a delicious lunch with refreshing drinks. The panoramic views across to the village of Tachdirt set the tone for the adventure ahead.
After the walk, we returned to our beautiful riad in Armed, where the team enjoyed a relaxed evening, sharing stories and getting to know each other.

The next morning began with a hearty breakfast prepared by Fumar and his wife. Energized and ready, the team set off on the start of the main trekking route, heading up to the Tizi Mzik pass. The group made excellent progress and celebrated with fresh orange juice from a local trader. Feeling strong, some members even took on an additional peak to aid acclimatisation. A scenic descent through juniper forests and dramatic landscapes led us to the Tamsoult refuge, where we shared a nourishing meal and got some well-earned rest.
An early start on the following day marked the toughest challenge so far—a high-altitude trek over the Tizi Aguelzim pass. Along the way, we paused at a picturesque waterfall before tackling the steep zigzags to the top. With everyone in great form, we added the Aguelzim summit to our route—our second peak in as many days. By midday, we reached the refuge for lunch, where our support team once again delivered an incredible meal as we rested in preparation for summit day.

Excitement was high for the Toubkal summit, and another early morning saw the team moving confidently up the mountain. After reaching the shoulder at 3900m, we detoured to Toubkal Ouest (4019m) to avoid the busy main ridge. We then returned to the shoulder and pushed on to the summit of Jbel Toubkal. By late morning, under sunny skies and easing winds, our entire group stood triumphantly at the highest point in North Africa. After soaking in the moment and capturing photos, we descended to the refuge for a well-deserved celebratory meal.

On our final day in the mountains, the team felt strong and acclimatised, so we decided to summit Ras and Timesguida—two additional 4000m peaks. Everyone made light work of the climb and we were back at the refuge by 11 am.
Following another superb lunch, we began our descent to Imlil, stopping in the village of Chamharouch for a well-earned espresso at a local trader’s stall. Bags were loaded, and our driver Mohamed transferred us back to our riad in Marrakech.

Our final day was spent unwinding in Marrakech—relaxing, sunbathing, and exploring the vibrant souks, taking in the rich colours, scents, and energy of the city.
This unforgettable trek ended with seven happy clients, all summiting Toubkal and beyond. We couldn’t have asked for better company—or better weather!
